Technical

Although our timber lanterns are straightforward to install there are a number of items that will need considering. Almost all installations will need to comply with building regulations due to the glass area in the roof. In order to comply we recommend low-e and argon glass as standard. In addition, steels or laminated beams are required to support the lantern. There are also alternative roof finishes such as lead, glass reinforced plastic or single skin membranes.

GLAZING

Roof glazing: 24mm double glazed sealed units manufactured to a 4-16-4 configuration
Optional Side glazing: 24mm double glazed sealed units manufactured to a 4-16-4 configuration. Conforms to BS5713*
The sides are factory glazed using the standard method approved by the Glass & Glazing Federation
All Toughened safety glass to BS6206* as required by building regulations
Our dry glazed roofing system incorporates specially designed rafter gaskets to give each roof a weather tight seal. The flexibility of the gasket accommodates any possible expansion or contraction within the conservatory roof structure
Solar control, tinted, patterned, easy clean and laminated glass are all available as options at extra cost

RAINWATER GOODS

uPVC ogee guttering option available
Extruded aluminium guttering and down pipes available at additional cost
Cast aluminium guttering and down pipes option available at extra cost
Colours – white or black (other options available at extra cost)

OPTIONAL SKYLIGHTS

Optional powder coated aluminium opening roof vent using a dry glazed system with gaskets or a low-profile aluminium clad timber opening roof vent. Both have performed extremely well in severe weather conditions over many years
Manual operation using worm gear system and roof vent pole handle as standard
Automatic operation featuring thermostatic control and rain sensor is also available at additional cost
