Lantern Roofs are a specialty. We have made all sizes and shapes, various ridge configurations, and opening roof lights. We also make curved rafters and domes. All are manufactured in our own highly automated UK facility along with our sash windows, casement windows and doors.

Our lantern roofs are full engineered to ensure structural integrity. They are available at competitive prices and can accommodate almost any glazing specification that may be required.

All the timber components for our lantern roofs are made to a tolerance of less than one millimeter and are fully finished in our automatic paint spray plant to ensure consistent coating thickness and a first class finish. Provided that components are carefully handled, no further painting is required.

Lead times are competitive and once the drawing has been approved delivery can be in as little as three weeks.

Main Features:

State of the art production technology has allowed Clifton Joinery to design an interlocking roof system based on tapered dovetail joints and a high degree of timber engineering.
Using a matrix of sizes underwritten by our structural engineer, every Clifton Joinery roof is designed to meet British Standards.
If building regulations approval is required full structural calculations can be supplied .
Our dry glazed roofing system incorporates specially designed EPDM rafter gaskets to give the roof a weather tight seal, their flexibility accommodates any possible expansion or contraction within the roof structure.
The aluminium roof components are polyester powder coated to your choice of colour.
Unique construction eliminating the use of tie-bars on certain size and pitched lanterns.
Structural tie-bars or other reinforcement will be included as necessary.

Standard Specification

56mm thick rafters—variable depth—dry glazing gasket and Exitex capping cut to length.
52-56mm thick hips—variable depth—dry glazing gasket and Exitex capping cut to length.
56mm ridge—variable depth—dry glazing gasket and timber capping cut to length. Electric groove to underside with cover trim.
70mm thick valleys—variable depth—aluminium drainage channels, dry glazing gasket and Exitex capping cut to length.
Factory assembled gables, gasket and Exitex capping cut to length. Powder coated L channel. All beads for gables cut ready for fitting.
Header plate complete with fascia and dentil moulding where appropriate.
Cresting and finials where specified.

Optional Walling

Standard depth 70mm with 68mm wide mullion with directly glazed units.
Projecting storm proof casement option.
Choice of 95mm deep framework with 68mm mullion incorporating shot-in flush casements.
